Cover Letter for Civil Construction Jobs
During the recruitment process, there are various professional letters written for communication between the recruiter and candidates. The recommendation letter is written by the previous employer to the current employer, recommending the candidate for the job. But if the employer feels that the candidate is not suitable for the job, then they can write a negative recommendation letter. A negative recommendation letter should highlight the reason why you feel that you ex-employee would not be a suitable candidate for job in any particular company or industry. Before you draft such a letter, you should go through the employee's performance file with the Human Resource department. See to it that you mention those details for which you have supportive documentation to furnish. The formatting of this letter should be simple and professional.

Mr. John S. Lewis,
Recruitment Head,
William Construction Inc.,
4452 Dark Hollow Road,
Laurens, SC 29360.
Dear Mr. Lewis,
This is to inform you that Mr. Darren R. Smith was employed with ITS Constructions as a plumber from September 23, 2003 to February 21, 2004. Darren was not proficient with his work and could not complete the work assigned to him within time.
During his tenure at ITS Constructions, Darren did not abide to rules and regulation of the company. He took uninformed leaves. Hence, the construction manager had to look for a replacement on several occasions. These lead to the increase in the total construction cost. He was provided complete training about reading blueprints, taking measurements of area of work, using least amount of material to complete the plumbing work, use of various tools such as cutting machines, wrenches, welding, etc.
Even after such thorough training, he was unable to complete his work within stipulated time and resource. He was warned on several occasions, but there was no improvement observed in his work. Hence, I would not recommend him for a plumber's job. He cannot follow instructions and does not take his work seriously.
Thank you for spending your time to go through this letter. I hope you follow my suggestion of not recruiting Darren R. Smith in your company.
Regards,
David J. Delgado,
Construction Manager,
ITS Constructions.

Mr. Ricardo A. Hawkins,
HR Head,
BTH Construction Ltd.,
1776 Park Boulevard,
Johnson City, TN 37601.
Dear Mr. Hawkins,
I would like to inform you that Donald J. Silver worked with Excel Constructions from January 14, 2011 to July 09, 2011 as a civil engineer. During his tenure at our company, he was caught doing unethical work. He was undisciplined, irregular and incompetent and did not complete the work in stipulated time.
Donald was given several written and verbal warning about his work incompetency. Yet we could not see any improvement in his performance at work. There were some financial discrepancies found in the projects he worked on. It was found that he was simultaneously working on freelance projects, which was against the policies of our company. He was fired from his job as his behavior was unethical and against our company's policies.
I request you not to recruit Donald J. Silver for any job profile in your company. I would like to thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
[Signature]

Construction Inspector,
